The CRA proposal incorporates all software and hardware components directly into the definition of product with digital elements. The CRA would be the first law to cover safety for any software regardless of intended purpose and execution environment. Components, spare parts, or sub-assemblies is only rarely regarded as finished products. Also, product safety legislation typically applies to finished products. To date, software has not been necessarily covered under the E.U. The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) which has been proposed by the European Commission on September 2022 and which is now co-legislated upon by the Parliament and the Council is setting out cybersecurity requirements for □□□□□□□□ □□□□ □□□□□□□ □□□□□□□□ amending Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on Market Surveillance and Compliance of Products. citizens, companies, and infrastructures.
